Every time I visit Vail, I get a feeling that I have travelled to a far away land. With its quaint brick covered streets, picturesque cottages, snowy mountains, and numerous skiers swarming past me, I find myself believing that I am not in Colorado but in some foreign town of Switzerland or French Alps. Of course, this was one of our winter musts!
Vail is about 2 hours of driving from Denver, yes, so close! It is a sweet and short ride away, made even sweeter with a chocolate bar. Did I ever mention that I love chocolate, dark chocolate especially?
Even though, this winter I was not planning on skiing or snowboarding, I was looking towards spending a day outside walking and then warming over a tasty meal. Most importantly, I was looking towards spending time with Matt and Gisela exploring village of Vail. Gisela loves to be outside. All the sounds, sights, people provide an entertaining stimulation for her. One of her favorite activities is to sit on your knees and watch people go by at a cafe. She is a people watcher for sure, just like her mommy.
Look at these charming streets of Vail with a mountain backdrop. Whether you are there doing winter activities, admiring nature, exploring food scene or just spending time with your loved ones, Vail is a perfect location for all of these.
In the afternoon, we decided to take a ski lift to the top of the mountain. The views that unfold as you go higher are absolutely breathtaking.
Whole experience was made even more magical with a snow storm that started as we were going up the ski lift. I managed to snap a few pictures before everything turned white with zero visibility.
Good bye Vail. Not for long. See you soon.
